Q. I understand that some major road construction
projects provide for "performance bonuses" for contractors to
encourage them to complete the project on time and on budget,
and that these are often quite effective. Have you thought of
using performance bonuses in this way?
A. Yes, we are considering incorporating some sort of incentive
structure, using both positive and negative components, in contracts
for this project but that has not been decided yet. We agree that
they can be very effective.
